Free Day & Extra Credit! Monday & Wednesday

You're done!  Now, if you are nervous about your grade and would like to complete the extra credit assignment, you may do so!  This assignment must be done by the end of Wednesday class.  Drop it into the Extra Credit Dropbox when it is complete.

Follow and complete the directions in Animation: Lesson 4: Inverse Kinematics.  When you begin this assignment, you must load the premade scene from "Getting started with Maya Lesson Files" the Zipped file under 2015.  Once you have loaded the scene, you may begin the directions.  Complete all the directions and drop it into dropbox!

REMEMBER you will have an ARTiFacts Quiz on finals day.  You may use your notes, but NOT the computer.  Make sure you have all the ARTiFacts written down in your folder prior to finals day- Friday 5/29.

Your final project is due at the end of todays class!  Work hard to finish and make sure you have met all the requirements!

To turn in successfully you must do the following:

Drop your Maya file into Dropbox
Drop your IPR Rendered Image file into Dropbox
Turn in your filled out tracking sheet to Ms. Duffy!

Then take a deep breath!  Your done!  Whoohoo!

Today you will start your final project in this class!  You will have 5 full class periods to finish.  Final projects will be due Thursday May 14th.  Follow the directions carefully and make sure you are doing ALL of the requirements along with tracking necessary information on your sheet you will be turning in.  I will not be able to tell you how to do something anymore, but you are more than welcome to use past assignments to help you, as well as google and your neighbors.  Do your best and get it done! 

If you lose your tracking sheet, please print a new one from Cole!

Today we are going to figure out what the heck happened on Monday!   Don't worry- none of you are losing points due to the computer issue you ran into!

Also, we will learn how to add images to our objects and then we will working on a small mini lesson using rendering! 

We will review IPR rendering as well to make sure everything is working properly!

Monday - Rendering!!!

I am so sorry I am not here today!   I became expectantly sick and had to go home.  Today you will be starting a new unit, therefore I need you to read VERY CAREFULLY since I am not here to answer your questions.  I believe you all can do this successfully without me, but if you need help, ask your neighbors! 

I have given you visual clues on how to complete Lesson 1 in the PowerPoint slide below.  You will need to download a premade file for this Lesson--the slide below will tell you how to download your Lesson Files if you have forgotten!

Once you have downloaded the file, open up your directions under "Rendering- Lesson 1: Rendering a Scene"
Follow the directions and when you are finished drop into the "Apple" DropBox!

 

Finished with time to spare?  Make sure you have EVERYTHING IN so far!  The end of the year is coming FAST!

Due to the lack of students who turned in their Street projects, we are extending the due date one day.  You will have all day today to work on your street projects BUT they must be turned in by the end of the period.  We MUST move on after today!  For those who finished on time, extra points will be added to your grade for doing so!

Path Animation!

Learning Target: Today we are going to learn how to attach objects to a path for Path Animation.  We also will discuss how to properly attach your objects so they follow the path in the correct direction.

After our class demonstration you will be starting Lesson 3: Path Animation in the animation unit.  *You will be adding UValues and Twists, therefore, pay attention to the directions and key where is needed!  Drop into "Path Animation" when complete!

 

 

Friday! 3/20/15

Today we are going to finish our Driver/Driven Mini Lesson and then we are going to use the rest of the day as a Make-Up Day!

If you have not turned in everything thus far- please work on what is not complete, finish and drop into dropbox ASAP!

If you are one of the few that have everything completed, please find something PRODUCTIVE to do.  Playing video games, watching youTube is not productive.  Homework, read, play and explore with Maya, etc.

Today you are going to have a short amount of time to finish your Nurbs Modeling - Lofting curves lesson and then we are going to move on to ANIMATION-Keyframing!!!

Today we are going to finish our Lamp Mini Lesson together by adding a light source!  When you have a light installed, drop your saved project into drop box.

NEXT:  We are going to practice Lofting curves together as a class and then you may start on NURBS Modeling Lesson 3- Lofting Curves!

No ARTiFact Today!

Today you are going to work on your mini lesson lamps.  If you have started this process, great!  If not, you will have all of today to complete your lamp.  Make sure you are meeting the requirements listed below.  These need to be complete by the time you leave today!  There is NOT dropbox for the lamp because we are going to add a light source together on Friday.  Therefore, just save in your H drive so you are ready for the beginning on Fridays class!

Egg Head/Egg Holder & Mini Lesson Lamp!

Today you are going to finish up your Egg Head/Egg Holder Tutorial and then move on to designing your Mini Lesson Lamp.   Remember there are no directions for mini lessons- use what you have learned from the tutorial to create a lamp of your choice!

Mini Lesson Table

Today we are going to finish up our Table designs.  These are due TODAY.  If we have time, we will begin a new tool called the CV Curve Tool, towards the end of class. 

 

FRIDAY! 2/20/15

Today we are going to finish our Temples if you have not already done so and then move on to design your first Mini Lesson: a table!

Mini Lessons do not have written directions.  This is your "break" from reading and a small assignment that shows me you have LEARNED how to use the basic tools in Maya.  Mini lessons will get larger and more complicated as the semester goes on.

Today we are going to finish up our Temple projects!  Please see slide below for details.

 

 Extra time?  Do something productive!  Finish missing work, play around with Maya, finish other homework, read, etc!

Today we are going to continue working on our Temple Tutorials in Maya.  Find where you left off last class and continue on with your reading directions.

When you finish with Lesson 3 & 4 and your temple is semi complete, you want to add the following items shown below to your temple.

Then you may turn it into the "Temple Dropbox" on Cole.
